RIP Darlan

There is nothing worse than seeing any horse let alone one as good as Darlan who tragically lost his life after a horrific fall at Doncaster today where he looked to be well on the way to confirming himself as a leading Champion Hurdle contender.

This is a most unfortunate incident but before people start debating the danger of NH racing horses sadly can suffer fatal injury's when loose in a field or simply cantering up the stable gallops.

I hate to think how connections feel tonight losing such wonderful horse and it must be terribly sad of the stable staff who looked after Darlan everyday returning home to see his empty stable but this highly talented horse has in his short career left a lasting impression with some wonderful wins in big races that will live long in the memory.

RIP Darlan.
